December 2025

As I write, the wind is howling, the rain is lashing down, the roads are flooded and storm Bram is in full swing! There was a time when we expected snow in December, but hey, hold onto your hats, that may well come!

Firstly, all best wishes to my followers, for a very happy Christmas and a healthy and prosperous new year.

There are a few new paintings which have just gone up on website.

  1. “Moonlight on glass”, a seascape a little different. A peaceful study of tranquillity. No, I was not painting at midnight! This one is from my imagination.
  2. “Rising Tide” is a familiar scene of my favourite New Polzeath, captured on a visit in October. I would love to see the sea right now. There will be wild mountainous waves with breaking surf, but sadly, can’t make it today!
  3. “One misty morning” is from a photograph taken by a best friend of mine at Denham Woods, near Bere Alston, Devon. It’s a beautiful pine forest and shafts of light were breaking through the trees giving a mystical magic to the scene.
  4. “Deep and Crisp and Even” is a take from Good King Wenceslas, a crisp snow scene just in time for Christmas! This is my interpretation of a photograph taken by Steve Stain, a fabulous photographer who kindly gave his permission for me to use his “Autumn meets Winter” photograph as inspiration. I am very grateful to him. Look him up on the web, super work!

I am hoping to do a few more exhibitions in the new year, so keep an eye on my blogs as I will give good warning of upcoming events.

In the meantime, very best wishes to all.

Geoff
