July 2026

Hi to all on this super sunny, hot, hot day. Hope you are enjoying this fine weather.

Just to let you know that there are some new paintings up on the website and a couple of important dates for the diary.

Dealing with dates first: –

Summer Exhibition

Drawn to the Valley,  (a collective of artists and makers,of which I am a member), are holding our Summer Exhibition at the Butchers Hall, Tavistock from Wed. 15th July to Sat. 18th July. 9.30am – 4.30pm. Entry is free and this year promises a fantastic show of members high quality paintings and crafts. There is also a café offering hot, cold drinks, cakes and savouries and there will be demonstrations, a kiddies drawing table and also a shop for unique art gifts. I will be exhibiting paintings, prints, cards and some novelty gifts bearing my art.

Open Studios

I will be exhibiting in our Open Studios Event at the Pavilion, The Sports Ground, Lydford, from Sat. 29th August to Sun 6th September, including the Bank Holiday period. I will be joined by fellow artists, Daphne Leeworthy, Clark Nichol, John Pettitt and Karen Nichol (a freehand textile artist).

I look forward to seeing you at these events. Please bring your friends and enjoy!

New Paintings

  1. “Snow on Snow” is a small winter scene from a photograph I took in a Buckinghamshire forest some time ago.
  2. “Colly Brook”, Peter Tavy, Devon, depicts a babbling brook where the small stream falls between rocks in a magical setting.
  3. “Morning Light” is an atmospheric study of light on the sea giving a sparkling shimmer.
  4. “Wild Seas” is just that! Both of the latter are drawn from images deep in my memory from experiences in the past. I hope you like them.
  5. “Nanjzal Bay” is off a secluded unspoilt cove in West Cornwall, famous for its crystal clear waters and “Song of thee Sea” rock arch, reached only by walking along the South West Coast Path.

Best wishes to you.

Regards,

Geoff
